Elena Edwards became CEO of Allianz Partners in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic. Her immediate focus—to steer the company, our partners, and customers through the worst crisis the travel industry has ever seen. Looking longer term, Elena is focused on growing the business and maintaining our position as a top travel insurance company, leveraging the strengths of our people and technology to continue to develop solutions that meet the needs of our partners and customers.
Elena joined Allianz Partners as General Manager in 2019 with over 30 years of leadership experience with GE companies, including 17 years in the insurance industry. As GM, she provided executive leadership on strategy, prioritization and execution for the US business unit.
Prior to Allianz Partners, Elena worked at Genworth Financial, where she was the President of the Long Term Care Insurance Closed Block business, with annual revenue of $2.5 billion. Other previous positions included multiple functional leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer of the US Life Insurance Division.
Elena is passionate about supporting the community and has volunteered on several nonprofit boards in the past. She is currently an active member of the Science Museum of Virginia Foundation Board and a Religious Educator at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
Elena holds a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Union College.
